Finding my voice

Or more accurately, figuring out what exactly this blog is about.

My original intention was that this blog will about living a better life in the suburbs – full of useful information and helpful hints.

As I read and explore different ideas related to this blog, I’m starting to think this blog is about something bigger than that. Rather than simply a “shift” in the way we do things – recycling, transportation, food, etc — I think this blog is going to be about a shift in mentality. Shifting out way of thinking about life in the suburbs. What is important? What can we do without? How do we relate to each other?

So I will keep posting helpful info on cars, finance, gardening, or whatever, but I think this blog will be about exploring a different way of life in the suburbs. Killing consumerism. Creating real community. Stuff like that.

Might change the blog’s name too. Not sure.
